THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION

Dr. David Fisher's revolutionary Dynamic Tower, the first building in motion which is the first skyscraper to be entirely assembled in a factory from prefabricated parts, factory made buildings will offers the advantages of any modern industrial product, it saves energy, reduces construction time and dramatically cuts building costs.
The prefabricated units arrive at the building site ready for quick and efficient installation, this approach known as the Fisher Method also requires far less workers on the construction site than traditional traditionally, In fact each floor of the building can be completed in only seven days, units can also be customized according to the owners' needs and styles.
Each individual unit will be completely finished at the Factory and exported worldwide, it will be equipped with all necessary plumbing and electric systems including all finishing from flooring to ceilings, bathrooms, kitchens, cabinets, lighting and furniture.
The preassembled units are simply hooked to each other mechanically, this results in environmentally clean construction sites, avoiding unloading of materials, waste, noise and pollution, there will be less risk of accidents to construction workers, and construction time will be reduced by over 30 percent. due to their particular construction method, prefabricated buildings will also be easy to maintain and repair, the building's maintenance facility, type of materials used, and the quality control employed will also make them more durable than any traditional structure.
Since the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids not much has changed in the world of building construction, workers placed a stone on top of another, and brick on top of brick, in 1889, the use of steel was introduced into construction for the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and beginning in 1905 reinforced concrete was used, with the start of the Industrial Revolution in 1780, products began to be made in factories using industrial methods, but today buildings are still done on site as they were 4,000 years ago.

“Almost every product used today is the result of an industrial process and can be transported around the world, from cars and boats to computers and clothing, factories are chosen for their ready access to materials, production technology, inexpensive labour, efficiency, and other conditions that result in high quality at a relatively low cost,” Dr. Fisher noted.
“It is unbelievable that real estate and construction which is the leading sector of the world economy, is also the most primitive, for example most workers throughout the world still regularly use trowels that was first used by the Egyptians and then by the Romans, buildings should not be different than any other product, and from now on they will be manufactured in a production facility,” Dr. Fisher stated.
The Dynamic Tower represents the future of architecture, resulting in a new era of living that will benefit both man and nature.

...So goes the old saying..."everything old is new again" and it is true in most things, either as concept/idea or in physical form.

Thanks for the informative links...certainly buildings that have moving parts are not new, and lots of cities have examples of buildings with revolving floors etc. and it would seem logical that if you can move one floor you can move them all.
Also as you have pointed out, modular uses and prefab construction are not new ideas/practise.
While all this is indisputable, and where obvious 'pre Fisher' examples do exist, little if any of these prior ideas, have become mainstream or commonplace practise...so, the magnificent house rotating with the sun and some other examples exist mainly as one off monuments to what we might achieve. For a variety of reasons we have not replicated nor integrated the genius of these examples into everyday building principles.
Fisher (and many others, like Avi Friedman) rave at this inequitable paradox and loudly insist in both words and work their determination to create a new paradigm that integrates all of the scale efficiencies demonstrated by a bloated auto industry into the building/housing sector.
So, that to me is the critical issue, not who was first...in fact history might well anoint the first person to take mass production housing to global scale as First and fairly so?
Anyway...I blab away...what I really wanted to know is whether you think we can in fact build houses with the mass precision of the auto...and incorporate the efficiencies Volker uses in his latest project? And also.. is high rise construction as Fisher proposes it likely to become commonplace?
Is this the Future of Construction??

Cheers all

ROTATING PARTS ...MOVING PARTS ......I MAY HAVE DATED HER IN HIGH SCHOOL

PERSONALLY PRE FAB IS A JOKE.

.WITH FUEL AT 500 $ A BARRELLLL -

-IT WON'T BE COST EFFECTIVE TO DELIVER ANYTHING ANYWHERE ......

LETS GET BACK TO SUSSTAINABILITY

THEN FOCUS ON PRE FAB LATER

* HAS NOT ANY ONE LOOKED AT THE ASSTHETIC ISSUES OF THIS BABY ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????THANKYOU

Oz...
Sounds like your pre teen personality talking again...Surely you do understand that prefab and sustainability are one and the same objective...and that freight costs are substantially reduced by integrated modular designs that ship as a kit, flat pak ??
And you must have been thinking of that girl from high school when you mentioned ass thetics?
Chuckles n cheers

Oz says it is Pre-pubescent --mal-larky--at zillion per sq ft will never pay back the joy ride .

PRE-FAB AND MODULAR ARE MOST SUSTAINABLE WHEN HOISTED WITH A QUICK 60 FT BOOM CRANE --ABOVE THIS HEIGTH IT'S A CRAP SHOOT ..PER SQUARE FOOT EXCESSIVE EXPENSE ...AND HARDLY THE DEFINITION OF SUSTAINABLE ? IT'S FAILURE WILL GIVE PRE-FAB A BAD NAME .....

"TURN KEY" ..YES ..FOR THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD THE GOLD KEY

"David Fisher" abortion

Residents of Dubai may one day experience a unique and constantly changing skyline thanks to Dynamic Architecture’s wind powered rotating skyscraper. The main idea behind their concept involves a central concrete core surrounded by 59 independently rotating levels. The skyscraper would generate its own electricity from the massive horizontal wind turbines that would be stacked in between each floor. This idea may seem outlandish or impossibly expensive, but the oil price boom in Dubai has already funded many other similarly massive and complex architectural projects. If oil prices continue to increase these rotating wonders may be seen on Dubai’s horizon within the next few years.

Another daft mega-monumental opus magnus of some daft ego-maniacial architect.

Actually, I see the potential and from ONE perspective it’s an interesting idea.
But I can’t help to agree with the multiple points made about noise issues, motion sickness issues, motion versus static service coupling issues, bearing issues, load issues, and another one that hasn’t been mentioned.
sand !
don’t they realize how much fine sand moves through the air on the wind or hasn’t anyone bothered to consider it ? how do you keep that amount of dust out of high altitude couplings and moving parts, sleeves etc. ?? i can’t even keep the stuff out of waterproof bags at ground level!
I can envision how the elevators will be accomplished. With a slow rotation, the inner corridor can be entered with no difficulties. That would be stationary.
My interest is piqued by the problem of reliable connections to the apartments for utilities. As stated by cyberbian, the electrical couplings are not that durable. The other utilities, water and sewer in particular are going to be an issue. Unless there is a non-rotating portion of each residential floor that contains all of that, it would be a nightmare to maintain.
Those 58 turbines won’t receive enough clear flowing wind to generate any significant energy output. Not even enough to power the rotation of the floors, let alone produce a surplus.
To my knowledge there is not a building anywhere in the world that has successfully generated a significant amount of energy via an integrated wind turbine. This is due to the behavior of the wind when it hits a solid object, like a building. The majority of the winds energy is lost before it hits the turbine blades.
Wind turbines need uninterrupted access to lots of wind to achieve efficiency, which is why they are sited offshore at such great expense. I’m afraid Dr Fisher’s design is therefore fatally flawed
This seems like a far fetched idea and many people bring good points up on the topic of nausea but don’t forget it takes a week to rotate 360 degrees. Its not like an ultra fast moving tower and each floor movement is controlled individually. To me this seems like a perfectly logical and achievable engineering and architectural challenge although pricey. But who has more money to spend on this then the oil barons and their billions of dollars?
I have worked with rotating couplings for electricity, they tend to fail rapidly due to arcing, I cannot imagine doing that for water and sewage. The building would spray waste and water like a great sprinkler.
I don’t like it. If you have no control over your condo spinning… this can get really annoying… really fast! If you do, I’m sure your neighbors would be annoyed if you are spinning when they are trying to sleep. Hah. This is so ridiculous. They forgot about the human factor.
Also, Dubai is messing with mother nature. Think about how the palm islands and world islands have affected marine life and the natural ecosystem
This is the most ridiculous idea I have ever seen. I once worked in a revolving restaurant and have seen my share of sick people. It took 54 minutes to make a full rotation and guests still managed to lose their sea legs… and appetizers.
I’D LOVE to see a tower of this size filled. Instead of a trash chute will there be a vomit chute to collect in the basement for removal?
This method of making every other floor into a wind turbine seems an expensive way to produce electricity. It would require doubling the height of the building and I think the additional costs would not warrent this type of construction.
I think that a more practical way of using wind power for a building would be to use only the top floors of the structure to generate power since the wind velocity is higher at greater elevation.""

his is an attempt to create ,(in concept only) TOTAL COMMUNITY ..AS IF A SPACE SHIP ..(EVEN WITH MOVEMENT ).hOWEVER THE POWER AND MOVEMENT ARE DICTATED BY OTHERS ..AND LIMITED BY OTHERS ..

TOTALITARIAN ARCHITECTURE ..AS IF A SPACE STATION ON EARTH ?

The free society will always eclipse the unfree one; for while totalitarianism may forbid the bad, it can never compel the good -- something which arises spontaneously among free men.

Oz...40 years ago, Before answering machines, telex, fax, cellphones, computers in business, personal computers, the internet and a plethora of other unimaginable things that we now take for granted...This extraordinary thing happened Is it possible that highrise construction is now forever limited by a 60 foot crane??

My dear Michael, theres no doubt...you are a dreamer, and I'm with you.
If there is something that mankind has proved, is that everything is posible.

But...I don't know if those things that are posible, are always convenient too?
