hi Mojtaba Andalib Azar,
as u said "Villagism is the study of villages, their geographic, nature, economic, political, social and cultural environment, and the impact of all these forces on the built environment......."..in this context i would say 'panchayati raj' a form governence in indian villages. actly its a best example of democratic governece. all people of the village generally sitting under a tree or a common place and all the discussion, debates, decision and laws are made and results are declared at the same place by the represenatives nominated by the villagers. It is the ideal form of governence in villages.

India is a country of many villages, but people migrating from rural to urban areas in search of better living and with increasing 'urban pressure' lack of availibility of land villages are squeezing n loosing there character, villages are now deloping into urban centres and we need to conserve them.

first was the village of eden .in the begining the Bible says ( if you read it carefully ) that God "repopulated" the Earth..

two chosen people..a garden

rivers then supported villages

horse and trails " " villages

then horse drawn wagons

then roads

then intersecting shiping lines

then biclycles , tricycle , rikshaw...wagon

and finally the steam locamotive stations

the water mill

the factory towns

the gas station

the military towns

the college towns

the villages built round the globe about Cathedrals and Temples

art comunites

summer communites

and the subtle kingdom of old ..now being

passed off as the macmansion " the personal walled village by

invitation only "

equally fake are cult ..counter cultrure commune's both right and

left wing

true villages are where our roots are ..the place we return in winter to remember summer and grandma

Thank you so much, Mojtaba Andalib Azar, for the wonderful invite. It is an honour to myself and my cause that you selected me to participate in your group. It's my prayer that by mutual understanding, my Tir Tairngire Ecovillage, and your efforts in Villagism, can be mutually benefited and increase awareness and the impact of our own missions.

Bless you all.

Carlo, I added a comment to the album of photos you recently posted on Ait-Ben-Haddou. Thank you for sharing the photos. I found other photos on Wikipedia.

The principle of having scale of human proportion is a quality that should be found in our village.

Sausalito is a village,
Agios Nikolaos in halkidiki is a village,
Roma was a village now is a town,
Carcasson was a village now is a museum,
Ait-Ben-Haddou was a village now is a monument.
Village is not forever.

Mojtaba,
a few years ago i was very concerned about the transformation of old abandoned "dead" storefronts on streets of Los Angeles. Changing them to "liveable sustainable "creative" spaces to create "urban mixed use neighborhoods. Such a concept can certainly be
used for the creation of "villages".

Villagism is the study of villages, their geographic, nature, economic, political, social and cultural environment, and the impact of all these forces on the built environment. Villagism is also a species of Village planning, focusing on the creation of communities for living, work, and play.
Villagists distinguish village areas from rural areas by their higher population density. They maintain that the difference in population entails a difference in the social and political order as well. Initially, some scholars denied the social and political differences between rural and village areas, and insisted that there was no point in a specifically 'village studies'; but this debate has been largely resolved in favor of village studies, and it is now widely accepted that villages need to be studied separately from the country.
The word villagism is also used as a qualitative complement to the description of various village and rural forms i.e.: informal villagism, new villagism, self-sufficient villagism, sustainable villagism, centralized or decentralized villagism, neo-traditional villagism, transitional villagism, other villagisms, etc.

In italy we have a village, when.....
we have a church with a bell tower,
a school,
a post office,
a market
and many children.
