Returned from a New Years trip to Cabo San Lucas and an excursion over the Holidays with my best bud brother-in-law, David, visiting Tucson, Sierra Vista, Bisbee and Southern Arizona. I'll be uploading images soon, but in the meantime check out David Schmidt's new photos right here in MyarchN.

Thanks for your comments Karen,

Sheila and I both had a great time in Arizona also. I hope that you and Gus have fun sailing down the Baja. Take lots of good photos for a show and tell.

Phenomenal photos, KC. Your dragonfly put me in mind of Basho story you have probably read. One of his students wrote a poem:
Red dragonflies
remove their wings
and they are pepper pods
.

Basho said that isn't haiku! Your poem should be:

Red pepper pods
Add wings
and they are dragonflie

Hello KC, very nice to hear from you. And thanks for your comments on walkability. You're absolutely right.

Because lived in Carefree, I am familiar with hot summers, but I wouldn't consider it so extreme that it would be impossible to create natural microclimates, would you? Shopkeepers would quite understandably resist malls that people would avoid all summer!

In an outdoor mall there may still be that artificially exaggerated distance between shops and dwellings that is, I believe, not beneficial to the social order and sustainable socio-economic growth.

Jamaica photography and fun in the sun trip

I just returned from a week long trip to the Ocho Rios area of Jamaica. Since we didn't rent a car we took an excursion with one of the hotel staff to see were Bob Marley was raised and laid to rest. Bob Marley spent a lot of time in a mountain village in the mountains near Ocho Rios. This is where he meditated and created most of his Reggae music.
