My name is Patrick McKechnie, I have recently graduated with BA in Design Studies from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, USA (May 2011) In my last semester I was studying abroad at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Where I then migrated up to Bangkok to work with local Melbourne architect Matt Waites. I am looking forward to joining a design team and gaining more professional experience and knowledge of the industry for the next couple of years. I am open to working locally and internationally on a wide range of projects from private residential to regional scales.
I started my architecture studies with computer and hand drafting in high school (1998) and have continued learning new programs and techniques since. I am very experienced in Adobe software, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Sketchup + Vray, and 3D Max for Mac and Windows. I am highly motivated in exploring new computer programs and currently expanding my knowledge of 3D Max, Alais and Revit.
I have six years professional experience starting with the Tektone Architectural Drafting office in Mesa, Arizona,(2005), here I initially started as an CAD drafting intern and within a year I was employed full time and managing the final production of construction documents. An example of project in which I was the project manger can be found at Tempeplace.com. Most recently I have been working with Melbourne architect Matt Waites, designing multi unit urban dwellings.
I have familiarize myself with the differences in design materials and practices in Australia as compared to the USA. I take great pride in my work and very much enjoy challenges, I feel that creative problem solving is my strongest asset, I have the technical knowledge and graphic communications skills solve any problem and I am always looking forward to conquering new design challenges with absolute excellence.
I can look at anything and picture a building.
