Recent article in ArchNewsNow regarding new Museum in Fresno, CA

A web link to a recent article about a new museum in Fresno, CA http://www.archnewsnow.com/features/Feature231.htm

I'm interested in thoughts about incorporating indigenous design. Though, used by permission here in the design for the Henry Madden Library expansion at Fresno State, I am wondering what has anyone's experience been like incorporating similar notions such as these. I have worked with various tribes all over the western US, including the Table Mountain Rancheria (aka reservations elsewhere). Some cling tight to not sharing culture, others freely and openly flaunt, and practically even sell it to the general non-native public. Being an Alaskan Native in part, I am confounded at the disparate ideology and willingness, or un-willingness to share. I for one, would be more than willing to share my cultural heritage of being part Aleut :-)
