dpr_editorial is happy to announce that our next forthcoming book is the Spanish edition of the book:

DID SOMEONE SAY PARTICIPATE? An Atlas Of Spatial Practice
Edited by Markus Miessen & Shumon Basar, Designed by Åbäke

Did we mean participate or Did we mean something else?
Markus Miessen & Shumon Basar, Editors

The book Did Someone Say Participate? has been published by the MIT Press in the year 2006. dpr_editorial going on with it's philosophy to share interesting contents with our readers and having noticed that this amazing book talks about the most actual and contemporary topics (as it is participation and social projects with personal involvement, looking for a chance to make radical change in today’s cities) has decided to translate and distribute the book all over the world, especially in Latin America and Spain, to bring all Spanish-speakers the chance to get to know all the great projects and text that are part of the book.

Preface by Hans Ulrich Obrist
Includes contributions by:
Åbäke, Shumon Basar, Johanna Billing, Celine Condorelli & Beatrice Gibson, Keller Easterling, Francesca Ferguson, Justin Frewen, Stephen Graham, Joseph Grima, Mauricio Guillen, Michael Hirsch, Bernd Kniess & Meyer Voggenreiter, Armin Linke, Brendan McGetrick, John McSweeney, Markus Miessen, Matthew Murphy, Lucy Musgrave & Clare Cumberlidge, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Bas Princen, Wendy Pullan, Frank van der Salm, Luke Skrebowski, R&Sie(n) with Pierre Huyghe, Peter Weibel, Srdjan Jovanovic Weiss and Eyal Weizman.

As the editors say in their introduction, there is no intention to “map” a particular generation here. The disciplinary territories include art, curation, architecture, photography, geography, humanitarianism, politics, philosophy, urbanism, information technology, pedagogy and futurology. We can see that the book is really timeless and that's why we decided to publish a book from two years ago, because it doesn't get old with the years!

Miessen and Basar pointed that today, the need to identify and instrumentalise “spatial practices” becomes significant due to the unprecedented visibility of what one might call “globalization at work”: from Iraq to Nepal, Dubai to Mumbai, a new atlas is being re-drawn for the 21st century, one that Thomas Friedman describes as a new “flatness”. Did Someone Say Participate? re-draws the map of participatory, spatial practice that is a function of such shifts.
