Yes, hard to get back into the work groove after such an extended period of freedom (your pupils probably feel the same)! How is it going?

I just noticed that you are a fan of Lebbeus Woods and Bilal, 2 visionary artists (they definitely walk on the wild side). I, too, admire Christopher Alexander. Hope you can make time to explore more of those concepts despite having other demands on your time.

Hi Silke
Thanks for your kind words. How appropriate! I have just been writing a short article for a newspaper on "Creative power of thought" - in it I said that there are no conclusions, just evolutions.
The jobs that we "do" are simply vehicles for us "to be". The art of living, is to "be" whilst we are "doing".
best wishes Michael

Out of office reply - I visit my mother to summer holiday, I will be back 7/28.
I put into my bags: An electric hedge trimmer to fix my mothers garden, the competition "Four Square House Design Problem: Homage to John Hejduk" and same background-literature. I will have a great time!
See all of you 7/28, enjoy the summer, enjoy the life!
Cheers,
Silke
Note: no internet-connection in my mum's home, she's from Jane-Austen-times.

I keep enjoying your photos. As long as YOU can find your books when you want them, the way you put them in order doesn't matter at all. Look forward to hearing your recommended reading - if you took something away from the book, it will be interesting.

Hi Elizabeth,
no, I do not travel a lot , I just don't leave my home without a camera.
I may neither enter a bookstore without adult company, I think about what I'll put on the list... My bookshelf is in a mess, can't find that I'm looking for, I'll report back!
Cheers,
Silke
